(Mark Su for Mayor Chicago , Jube 28, 2026 ) On June 28, 2026, Mark Su, candidate for Chicago Mayor 2027, attended Chinese Community Summer Picnic at Ping Tom Park in Chicago’s South Chinatown, where he met and greeted members of the Chinese community and other Chicago residents.

The event was hosted by the Midwest Asian Health Association, 11th Ward Alderman Nicole Lee, and several community organizations, together with numerous Chinese associations and cultural performance groups. As the first major summer picnic held in Chicago’s Chinatown this year, the event drew more than 2,000 attendees. Guests enjoyed a variety of traditional Chinese music and dance performances presented by local cultural groups throughout the day, and event also celebrate America 250th anniversary.

During the event, Mark Su spoke with many community members, Chinese media about issues affecting Chicago’s Chinese communities, the future of the City of Chicago, public safety, economic opportunity, neighborhood development, and his vision for Chicago. He also discussed his campaign for Mayor of Chicago in 2027 and listened to residents’ concerns and ideas for building a safer, stronger, and more prosperous city.

Mark Su thanked the organizers, volunteers, performers, and everyone who attended for making the community celebration a success. He reaffirmed his commitment to working with every neighborhood and every community to ensure that all Chicagoans have the opportunity to thrive.
